Carlos Arturo Varon Castro was born in Ibagué, in the Columbian Andes in 1973. Already as a child he often went hiking and climbing in the mountains of Columbia and thereby discovered his passion for nature’s beauties. He has been fascinated by the idea that the impressions lying before his eyes could be captured eternally in the shape of images. During his studies of graphic design, advertising techniques and commercial psychology, Varon Castro started to intensively look into the subject of photography and visual arts, which he could intensify during his work as a graphic designer for various advertising agencies. Since 2002 he has been living in Germany, studying photo engineering and media technique at the University of Applied Sciences in Cologne. In 2006 he joined Markus Bollen as an assistant and has been working and creating masterpieces with the E-1.
